Who I AM!

I am a traditional sculptor with over ten years of experience, creating both personal and collaborative works across various types of projects. I have contributed to exhibitions at prestigious venues such as the Saatchi Gallery and Somerset House, while also exploring intimate, self-exploritive creations. Specializing in oil-based and polymer clays, I have also worked on pop culture collectibles to fashion pieces featured on magazines.

While digital sculpting continues to rise in popularity, I remain committed to the tactile, hands-on process of traditional sculpture, believing in the unique texture and depth clay offers. With a passion for keeping the craft alive, I will continue to keep my hands dirty and strive to perfect my craft whilst sharing with others the beauty of hand-made pieces.

My journey

Education:

I studied product design at Brunel university and graduated with honers. The school I went to didn’t expose me to sculpture or 3d forms of expression, and so when I decided to persue a university degree, product design captured my imagination. A course that not only emphasised problem solving but also made physical models to bring those ideas to life.

It introduced me to foam sculpting, woodwork, plastics and even metal shop where I worked on lathes and mills. It was a great introduction to all forms of making.

Early work:

My first job was as a graphic designer for a tv production companies, 121 design, telecoms tv, Hudson Waters, Future power station. Working on a variety of graphic design projects and introducing me to animation, which lead me to a career of both motion graphics and 2d animation.

Due to my product design degree and some 3d modeling skills I got to work on a number of computer 3d projects but my heart was not in it.

I worked on TV animated adverts, company idents, infomercials, brand awareness and even music videos.

Current work:

After years of staring at a screen I decided it was time to go back to my original passions, making things with my hands. I started training in sculpture, and embracing the beauty of clay and the strong links that spans human history.

Sculpture is at it’s core primaeval, it connects all cultures and all times from modern day to cavemen. I have worked with artist as a fabricator and have sculpted for commercial projects, but I always go back to my own personal projects.
